The county of East Sussex offers such a range of attractions and events during the winter period, visitors to the area will be completely spoilt for choice. Added to this is the beautiful landscape of the East Sussex countryside and its historic towns like Brighton, Hastings and Rye, all ready to be explored at this festive time of year.

You can also venture to many of the historical period country homes and houses, including many of the well-kept castles owned by English Heritage and the National Trust, which offer many seasonal events and workshops for you to enjoy.

To get you in the festive seasonal spirit on the 12th of November the seasonal “Real Ice Rink” opens again at Brighton’s Royal Pavilion. The Royal Pavilion’s Ice Rink is always a hit with people and families of all ages and is open right through until the 22nd of January 2012. The Ice Rink has the eye-catching former Prince Regent’s Royal pleasure palace as its backdrop and stretched nearly 800 square metres, with space for 250 skaters per session. There are child-friendly facilities, with stabiliser’s and a learners’ area for beginners. Skates & boots are available for hire to both children and adults, plus the ice rink is within easy walking distance from the city centre and the sea front.

For anyone wanting a taste of the Sussex countryside, the Rye Country Market in beautiful coastal town of Rye, near Hastings is well worth a visit on the 18th of November. The market is a typical East Sussex country market, where visitors have the opportunity to buy a wide selection of local goods and produce. You will be able to find everything from fresh flowers, locally grown vegetables, home-made jam and cakes, local crafts and antiques. So there is certainly something for everyone, plus admission is completely free.

If you are looking for a musical diversion, then maybe the London Philharmonic Orchestra and their performance of the JOS?� Suite by the Spanish composer Manuel de Falla, who was one of Spain’s most important musicians of the 20th century. This special concert takes place at the Brighton Dome on the 19th of November at 7.30.p.m and the featured conductor is Eduardo portal, it is sure to be a special evening of classical music.

Another musical event to look out for is the Jazz and Acoustic Music Weekend at Crowhurst Park in East Sussex, taking place on the 18th to 20th November. The Jazz and Acoustic Music Weekend events are friendly and informal style performances, which are held in smaller and more intimate venue areas, which give the audience a good way to enjoy the music, or if you feel like getting up and dance to shake your thing, you are more than welcome to do so.
